- Light as a Guiding Compass
The life-size Self-Portrait series examines the intersections of identity, place, and the natural world through photography and drawing. I overlay digital drawings—derived from personal markers such as my thumbprint, heartbeat, or navigational symbols—onto photographic foundations, bringing the presence of a woman’s body into dialogue with the landscape. Each image combines these photographs with graphics of my electrocardiogram, ovarian x-ray, thumbprint, and compass, linking individual experience to broader landscapes of memory, identity, and belonging.
