Some Aspects of Love video installation, 4 min 33 sec (edition of 3, audio component: yes) Some Aspects of Love is YOON CHO’s video performance of short juxtaposed readings from A Lover’s Discourse by the linguist, Roland Barthes and instructions and warnings from a glue (Stik'n Seal Adhisive) exploring the emotion of love. The reading of the book on subject of love gets lost in words and detached from emotion. On the other hand, the reading of what is seemingly dry instructions and warning texts from the glue, which bonds two elements together, becomes full of emotion. The left panel of the projection shows the reading from A Lover’s Discourse and the right panel presents the reading from the text of the glue. Some Aspects of Love investigates displacements in our preoccupations of expectancy with humor.
